Message from the CEO: Finding potential in others

Presbyterian Home for Children CEO Doug Marshall gives many sermons and speeches around Alabama sharing the Home’s mission of caring for at-risk children and their adult caregivers.

When he speaks to children and teens, his message often shows how they are each made in the image of God. Marshall also shares that mantra daily with the children entrusted at the Home.

“Each of you is made in image of God,” Marshall told a group of teens at a summer enrichment program in Wilcox County last week. “You each have immeasurable value and great purpose.”

Marshall has a favorite story to drive the message home about meeting a puppy while on vacation in Alaska that had potential to be a champion sled dog. Hear this impactful story told by Marshall in a YouTube video clip here.

Like in Jeremiah, God has a plan for each of us, a blueprint for our lives written by God, our creator, Marshall says.

“We all have potential that God has given that is in all of us,” Marshall said.
