Alumni Day draws dozens back to Home campus

Dozens of alumni returned to the Presbyterian Home for Children campus in Talladega on July 16 for the annual Alumni Day festivities.

Alumni of all ages gathered at Weatherly Hall and the gym to reconnect with friends and former caregivers and with the campus grounds that meant so much to them during their time of need in their childhood.

The alumni group learned about updated Home programs from Vice President of Program Operations and Services Felicia Storey, who has worked at the Home for 38 years, and were blessed with a prayer from PHFC Manager of Development & Donor Relations Carl Martin.

PHFC’s Maintenance Director Bryan Wood, who is a choir director at his church on Sundays, entertained the crowd with gospel songs and the alumni honored those who passed away in the last year since meeting at the Home’s campus in September last year.

Alumni were taken on tours of the campus as it is today to see renovations made since their days at the Home and learn more about programs offered now.
