The Allred Family blessed the Presbyterian Home for Children with a donation of nearly 1,000 books for the children we serve on campus, at Ascension Leadership Academy, and through our ongoing mission outreach in Wilcox and Marengo counties.
Meagan Allred and her husband, Matt, brought the book donation to the Home’s campus in Talladega on Dec. 22 in honor of Meagan’s mother, Amy Allred’s love for teaching and reading.
Amy Allred was a special education teacher for 44 years. She was also a lifelong Presbyterian and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anniston Al. Sadly, this summer, she passed away unexpectedly from a very short battle with cancer.
Meagan and her family chose to honor her love for teaching and reading by collecting children’s books rather than flowers. With the love and support of all of those she positively impacted in her life, the family brought an incredible collection of books to share with the ministries of the Home. Amy Allred truly loved teaching and spreading the love of reading. We are very thankful for Meagan and her family wanting her mother’s passion. Thanks be to God
