Felicia Ayers Storey, Vice President of Program Operations and Services at the Presbyterian Home for Children, has been named one of The 2020 Women Who Shape The State by THIS IS ALABAMA.
The story described the honorees as “Fearless. Strong. Determined. Intelligent.”
In more than 35 years at the Home, Storey has been all that and more. She has served thousands of children and their families as a social worker, program director, and interim president of the Presbyterian Home.
Dozens of employees and many, many interns, especially in social work, have benefited from her experience and wisdom as well. Her philosophy of leadership? “Dream without limits. Strive to have a career doing something that you love that is also your purpose in life. Have faith in God and step out on it.”
The 2020 honorees represent a broad spectrum – CEOs, artists, scientists, volunteers and more – but they have one thing in common: a fierce desire to give back to their communities. The selection committee chose 25 of the “best and brightest” female leaders from nominations submitted across the state.
