Presbyterian Home for Children Receives Grant from Alabama Power Foundation to Support Children and Families In-need

Talladega, AL — The Presbyterian Home for Children (PHFC) is pleased to announce that it has received a grant from the Alabama Power Foundation to support its Family Services programs. This funding will strengthen PHFC’s ongoing efforts to provide important resources, housing, and support services to at-risk children, youth, young adult women, and families in crisis.

“We are grateful to Alabama Power Foundation for their generous support of our mission,” said Doug Marshall, President and CEO of PHFC. “This grant allows us to continue providing secure, compassionate environments where children and families can heal, grow, and rebuild their lives. The impact of this support is far-reaching, especially for our programs like Secure Dwellings, Transition to Adult Living, and Family Bridges, which each provide unique, life-changing services to families in need.”

The Family Services programs at PHFC are designed to offer comprehensive support and stability to individuals in challenging situations. Secure Dwellings, PHFC’s transitional housing program, provides safe shelter for at-risk and homeless children along with their female caregivers, while Transition to Adult Living (TAL) equips young women with critical life skills as they work toward self-sufficiency. Family Bridges, an in-home preservation program, offers reunification and crisis support services to families across East Central Alabama.

The funding from Alabama Power Foundation will help PHFC expand its reach and continue to serve vulnerable populations across the region. “This grant ensures that we can continue empowering these children, women, and families to create lasting change in their lives,” added Marshall.
