The Secure Dwellings Program provides safe transitional housing on the PHFC campus to homeless children and their legal female caregiver. While living on our campus, our dedicated staff works to minister to their needs by empowering the caregiver to achieve goals and reach self-sufficiency. The environment provides a safe haven for children who have been homeless to rest, grow, play, and learn.
The program for women over age 21 provides employment assistance, including educational and vocational training. PHFC also provides case management services and assistance in obtaining food stamps, health insurance, and other benefits as well as mental health consultation. Financial literacy training, parenting classes, and life skills training are foundational pieces of the Secure Dwellings program.
Secure Dwellings assists moms with children in their care in need of housing and also women with housing insecurity who are working with the Department of Human Resources to regain custody of their children.Ā
Secure Dwellings is not an emergency shelter and only accepts families through an application, interview and assessment process. If you, or someone you know, needs our services, we encourage you to apply. A staff member will get in touch with you to determine if this program is for you.
