Ashley Burkhalter has joined the Presbyterian Home for Children as manager of the Thrift Store.
The Oxford native previously worked as an Event Coordinator planning camps for a local religious organization. She also has seven years of nonprofit hospitality experience.
Burkhalter has been married to her husband, Luke, for three years and they have a dog named Cajun.
If you see her in the store and strike up a conversation, she’ll tell you three of her favorite things are LSU football, coffee, and Jesus.
“I love that each day is fresh and new at the PHFC Thrift Store,” she said. “My love for the Talladega community puts a smile on my face each morning that I arrive at work.”
PHFC President Doug Marshall said the Home is thrilled to have a local professional like Ashley working for the Home.
“Ashley has a passion for the community and her experience will help grow the Thrift Store and our ministry serving at-risk and homeless children and families,” Marshall said.
