What we do

When families face homelessness, crisis, or uncertainty, the Presbyterian Home for Children is there with help and hope. Serving children of all ages and their female caregivers, the Home offers a safe place to land and the support needed to rebuild.

  • We provide safe housing and wraparound support on our campus to children and mothers in need for up to two years. Learn more about our Secure Dwellings program and apply for assistance here.
  • We provide safe housing and support for young women up to age 26 in crisis through our on-campus Transition to Adult Living program. Learn more about it and apply here.
  • We educate children in the Talladega, Alabama, area at our accredited private school, Ascension Leadership Academy. Learn more about ALA here.
  • We help moms who have lost their children to child services due to insufficient housing regain custody through our Secure Dwellings program. Read more about that here.

Learn about our other programs here.

Families from across the Southeast—not just Alabama—can find help here.
